The Dubaian princess named Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum , who announced she wanted a divorce from her husband on Instagram last week, posted for the first time since sharing a new photo with her 2-month-old daughter.

In the photo, Sheikha Mahra held her baby in her arms as they both looked at a painting of a white horse. She kept things simple and captioned the Instagram post with nothing but a white heart emoji.

The 30-year-old is the daughter of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Zoe Grigorakos. Sheikh Mohammed is Dubai's ruler and the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates .

His daughter caused a stir last week when she seemed to demand a divorce from her husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, on social media.

"Dear Husband, since you are preoccupied with others, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you," she wrote in the message, signing off with: "Take care. Your ex-wife."

The phrase "I divorce you" appeared three times in her message for religious reasons. According to a report by BBC, Sheikha Mahra was seemingly referencing the Islamic practice known as "triple talaq," which allows husbands to divorce their wives by saying "I divorce you" three times.

In Sunni Islamic Law, triple talaq grants permission for a Muslim man to divorce his wife by saying talaq, which means divorce in Arabic, three times. Under this practice, the man doesn't need a reason for divorce or his wife's agreement. The practice is currently prohibited in several countries. According to IslamQA, women are not authorized to use talaq towards their husbands.

After the divorce announcement was shared on July 16, it was reported that the former couple had seemingly unfollowed each other on social media. They have also deleted their old posts of each other from their accounts. Mohammed has not publicly responded to or addressed Sheikha Mahra's Instagram post.

Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana married in May 2023 in a lavish ceremony. They welcomed their first child, a baby girl, in May 2024..
