    Gov. Reynolds extends disaster proclamations for Iowa counties affected by flooding, storms

    DES MOINES, Iowa (KCAU) — Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has extended several disaster emergency proclamations as counties continue to recover from flooding and severe storms.

    By issuing an extension, affected counties will continue to be able to use state resources to recover. The emergency proclamations are now set to expire on August 17, 2024, unless otherwise specified.

    FEMA to open a Disaster Recovery Center in O’Brien County

    The extension covers multiple counties over three days in late June. See what day the proclamations were issued and what counties are included below:

    • June 22, 2024 – Issued for Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola, Plymouth, Sioux, Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Hancock, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Webster, Winnebago, Woodbury, Worth and Wright Counties
    • June 23, 2024 – Issued for Palo Alto County
    • June 24, 2024 – Issued for Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, and Pottawattamie Counties

    The extension also includes the targeted suspension of specific regulatory requirements in affected counties.
