Work set to begin today on Varina-Enon Bridge postponed

HENRICO COUNTY Va. (WRIC) — Maintenance that was scheduled to begin on Monday, July 22 on the Varina-Enon Bridge between Henrico County and Chesterfield County has been postponed.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, forecasted rain and wet conditions have caused the project to be pushed back by approximately one week.

Once the project begins, the southbound right lane of Interstate 295 will be closed for the length of the bridge for around six months. The northbound right lane, which is currently closed, was scheduled to be reopened beginning Tuesday, July 23, it is not known when this reopening will take place.
