LeBron James gave hilarious reaction to showdown with Germany 3-point specialist

LeBron James was full of praise for Germany's 3-point specialist Andreas Obst after Team USA men's basketball secured a 92-88 victory in London on Monday night in its final tune-up before the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Obst went 5-11 from 3-point range in a 17-point display against Team USA. "He shoots the ---- out [of] the ball," James told reporters about Obst's ability from range after the game. "For sure. Gotta know where he is at all times."

James had an equally impressive night. The NBA legend, 39, has been Team USA's go-to guy in both London games. He scored 23 against South Sudan, including a match-winning layup, and he served up another 20-point display against Germany .

Team USA went 5-0 on its road to Paris. James will be one of Team USA's flag bearers . "I feel pretty good," the Lakers star told Mirror Sports U.S. "I mean, we got better tonight and that's the most important [thing]. We were tested by a great Germany team that was a world champion last year.

"It was a good test for us and I'm glad we were able to, once again, keep our composure, persevere like we did the other day versus South Sudan. It was a good win for us."

He added: "We feel great. I mean, we've been practicing a lot. We've been trying to dive in and put a lot of things into our system. Because, like I'm saying, we don't have much time.

"But we feel good. We get an opportunity to continue to play. We're going to take the day off tomorrow, which is going to be great for our bodies. And get ready for the rest of the week until our first game in Lille."

Head coach Steve Kerr has assembled an Avengers-like roster, arguably one of the most star-studded ever to compete at an Olympics. The 2012 roster saw LeBron and Kobe Bryant team up. In 1992, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Charles Barkley.

"We've got a great group of guys," James insisted. "It doesn't matter if it's me, Joel, Steph. You know, when KD comes back, Ant-Man, AD. Everybody's going to have their moment. That's what a team is all about. We all root for one another. No matter how the game is going. If we're up, we're down. Whatever the case may be. It's a great group of guys."

"I'm blessed to play the game that I love to play. Super healthy. My family's healthy. So, a game of basketball is extra credit for me," James concluded. The team will now travel to France, where they play Serbia on July 28, followed by South Sudan on July 31, and finishing the group phase against Puerto Rico on Aug. 3.
