USA Basketball has finished their Showcase Games, going undefeated in five contests before the Paris Olympic Games. While it wasn't always easy, Team USA defeated Canada, Australia, Serbia, South Sudan, and Germany to go a perfect 5-0 in the USA Basketball Showcase.
With the Paris Olympic Games set to begin for Team USA on July 28th against Serbia, it was announced that Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will be the first USA Men's National Team Flag Bearer. The announcement was made by USA Basketball, who put together an incredible video of James finding out from Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry that he would have this special honor.
As USA Basketball shared, James will be the first Flag Bearer in USA Men's National Team history. This makes an already special honor even more special for James, as he gets to kick off the Paris Olympics as a major representative for the USA.

Savannah James has seen her husband have countless incredible moments on basketball's biggest stages, from the NBA Finals to the Olympics. With this expected to be James' last appearance at the Olympics, it is even more special that he is receiving the honor of being the Flag Bearer.
The 2028 Olympics will be in Los Angeles, but James has already made it clear he will not be competing. It is possible that the NBA's all-time scoring leader will be retired from basketball by then.
