'I sprayed my neighbor with a hose after she did something wild - she had it coming'

A man has shared his story of how he drenched his neighbor with a water hose after she did something revenge-worthy .

The 27-year-old took to Reddit to share his tale, explaining that he lives in an apartment below a woman who is around 32 years old .

His apartment spans two floors, starting at ground level. He detailed the incident that led him to retaliate against his neighbor.

He said: "She dumped (probably dirty) water from her balcony onto my patio. I was sitting there, drinking my coffee. The water hit my back/shoulders. I looked up and I saw her duck to hide from me. So I called out. 'Hey!'

"She said nothing but I knew she was there. I could see a little bit of her crouching. I grabbed my hose and turned it on, pointing it at her. I called her again - nothing. So I sprayed. She freaked out because her balcony door was wide open. She got up from her hiding position and started screaming at me to stop. I did (immediately).

"I told her all you had to do was answer me when I called. Why did you hide? She didn't answer. She didn't apologize. She called me a 'jerk.'

"Despite it being common sense, I also checked with management - you're not allowed to dump buckets of water from the balconies."

Reddit users were quick to comment on the situation.

One social media user said: "She had it coming."

Another person added with a hint of sarcasm: "Are you living in early 1800's London? Who throws water from a balcony anymore?"

A third Redditor chimed in with: "What goes around comes around, and frankly her hiding like a little coward after she did it just made her more deserving of the hosing."

Another added their two cents: "She had it coming. Sometimes you gotta meet pettiness with pettiness. And she's lucky you didn't blast her with the hose for not apologizing!"
