Andy Murray has announced that he will retire from tennis after the Paris Olympics, as he is set to compete in his fifth Games.Murray, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, will play both the singles and doubles events in the French capital before calling time on a nearly two-decade career.“Arrived in Paris for my last ever tennis tournament. Competing for Team GB has been by far the most memorable weeks of my career and I'm extremely proud to get to do it one final time,” said Andy Murray on X.The 37-year-old competed at his first Olympics in Beijing in 2008, where he lost in the first round to Lu Yen-Hsun in straight sets.Murray would bounce back from his Wimbledon heartbreak in 2012 to beat Roger Federer on the same stage to win his first Olympic gold medal. The three-time major champion defended his title at the 2016 Rio Olympics after beating Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro. However, injuries have hampered Murray’s career in recent years, with the Scot noting that “physically it's too tough” to continue playing.
