During the crime, deputies said Lewis called his girlfriend, 23-year-old Keilise Garrison , and drove a mile away down the road, ditching the vehicle. She then called Lewis’ mother, who picked him up and drove him home. Garrison was charged with tampering with physical evidence and accessories after the fact.

Lewis was then picked up by a friend, identified as Zachary Carnegie, 24, in a rental car with their bags backed. As they drove into Pasco County, they pulled into a shopping center where deputies blocked them in and arrested them.
