The ongoing reality series premiered on Netflix on July 9, 2024, with nine single men. Aside from Kazuto, the series includes Dai Nakai, Taeheon Kim, Ryota, Gensei Azumai, Shun Nakanishi, Alan Takahashi, Ikuo, and former contestant Usak (left in episode 5). The show’s official synopsis reads, “Over the course of a month, a group of men live under one roof and run a coffee truck together to connect and hopefully meet their one true boyfriend.”

Kazuto is one of the first contestants to join The Boyfriend. Sharing his expectations from his partner, he once said on the show, “So if he is asleep when I get home and we could sleep together, I would be very happy.” He is looking for someone who waits for him at home. So far, he has shown interest in Alan, Usak, and Ryota. However, things have not been fruitful for him yet.

While Alan was attracted to Kazuto, the latter had some reservations. The two likely ended up being just friends on the show. Later, Usak confessed his feelings for the chef, but things didn’t work out between them either. Besides, Usak left the series in episode 5. On the other hand, a spark was ignited between Ryota and Kazuto, which didn’t last long.
