ROANOKE, Va. ( WFXR ) — The warm, muggy, and rainy pattern continues across Southwest and Central Virginia. Expect a daily chance for scattered showers and storms throughout the work week.

A stationary front will help provide the region with scattered showers and storms on Tuesday. While a few morning showers are possible, increasing rain chances are slated for the afternoon and evening. Although the severe risk is low, localized downpours could lead to flooding in low-lying spots and areas with poor drainage. Flood alerts may be issued, so stay weather-aware.

Otherwise, it will be a warm and muggy day with mostly cloudy skies overhead. Morning temperatures will start in the 60s and lower 70s before slowly rising into the lower/middle 80s by the afternoon.

The wet and dreary conditions will persist for the next few days. A few showers and storms are possible on Wednesday with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. More widespread showers and storms are anticipated on Thursday with afternoon highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Locally heavy rainfall remains the main concern with this rainy weather pattern.

Rain chances will begin to decrease starting Friday. Showers and storms are still possible on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but the rain coverage will be isolated to scattered. Expect warmer temperatures for the weekend with highs in the 80s.
