The high school football season is almost here.

The eight-month wait for high school football ends with fall practices starting on Aug. 5 and the first games of the season starting on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Earlier this summer, the Standard-Times highlighted the top local players in seven position groups — quarterbacks , wide receivers , running backs , offensive linemen , defensive backs , defensive linemen , and linebackers .

The poll will run from Tuesday to 2 p.m. Thursday and results will be released shortly after.
