GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Greenfield Board of Assessors is conducting a revaluation of personal property at local businesses.

Members of the Real Estate Research Consultants, In., known as RRC will be in the field to do the inspections. Business owners can schedule appointments with them if needed for their personal property to be assessed including inventory, furniture and fixtures, equipment, and machinery used. The process is to ensure all taxable personal property items are accurately listed.

Per Massachusetts law, revaluations must be conducted every five years. Businesses are encouraged to participate in the process. According to the Greenfield Mayor’s Office, if a property is not inspected, the estimate may result in a less reliable appraisal.
