In a conversation with Jordan Peterson for the Daily Wire, Musk stated: "I was essentially duped into signing documents.
"This was really before I had any understanding of what was happening, and we had Covid going on, so there was a lot of confusion. And I was told they might commit suicide."
Peterson challenged this as a "lie from the start", arguing that gender dysphoria does not make a person suicidal, but underlying depression and anxiety can.
Musk concurred, even demanding jail time for those "promoting" gender-affirming care to assist young transgender individuals.
He declared: "It's incredibly evil and I agree with you that the people that are promoting this should go to prison. I was tricked into doing this. It wasn't explained to me that puberty blockers are actually just sterilization drugs."
"I lost my son, essentially. They call it deadnaming for a reason. The reason they call it deadnaming is because your son is dead. So my son, Xavier, is dead. Killed by the woke mind virus."
The Tesla boss has said that his child's decision to transition was a turning point that pushed him towards more conservative politics and his crusade against what he calls the "killed by the woke mind virus".
In 2022, Vivian legally changed her name and gender, with documents showing she wanted to cut ties with her dad, stating she " no longer wishes to be related" to him "in any way."
Even before this, Musk didn't shy away from expressing his views on transgender issues, especially pronouns, which he has described as "suck", despite asserting his "support trans."
Back in 2020, he tweeted on the platform formerly known as Twitter: "I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare." And in another tweet: "Pronouns suck."
It's reported that Vivian came out as transgender at the age of 16, confiding in her aunt via text and asking her not to tell her father, saying: "Hey, I'm transgender, and my name is now Jenna. Don't tell my dad."
She later opted for the name Vivian.
