    Or really, meet his family.

    The state's first-ever gold medal was brought back 100 years ago after the 1924 Paris Olympics. And the sport is a probably a little more unexpected that you think.

    Well-known Nashville businessman and lawyer John H. Noel, an avid sportsman, shot his way into state history as part of the 1924 U.S. Clay Pigeon Shooting Team.

    Now, Noel's grandchildren have donated their grandfather's Olympic paraphernalia to the Tennessee State Museum.
