FARNBOROUGH, England (Reuters) - Japan Airlines has ordered 20 Airbus A350-900 and 11 A321neo planes, Airbus's planemaking chief Christian Scherer said at the Farnborough Airshow on Tuesday.

The deal essentially firms up plans announced in March, when Japan Airlines said it would buy 21 wide-body A350-900 and 11 A321neo narrow-body jets.

Twenty A350-900s cost around $2.3 billion, while 11 A321neos cost about $710 million, according to estimated delivery prices from Cirium Ascend.
