    ‘Tinder Swindler’ Indie Builds Features Team

    All3Media’s Raw, the company behind The Tinder Swindler , Three Identical Strangers and upcoming Amazon MGM Studios doc Crime 101 , has hired Sam Gordon as producer/executive producer for its features team. Gordon is an experienced film and TV producer, with spells at Baby Cow, Calamity Films and BBC Films on his CV. Most recently, he was a development producer for Brouhaha Entertainment, where he worked on Firebrand and co-produced Karim Ainouz’s Motel Destino , which launched in Official Competition at Cannes this year. He also worked on Philomena and Stan & Ollie while at Baby Cow. At Raw, he’ll report into CCO Dimitri Doganis and CEO Joely Father, working with filmmakers Bart Layton and Tim Wardle, as well as Head of Scripted TV Sara Murray and other senior creative execs. RAW’s features to date have included American Animals, Three Identical Strangers, The Imposter, Encounter and Dream Horse.

    Jeffrey Archer’s Crime Thriller ‘Nothing Ventured’ Set For TV Remake

    Another thriller from author Jeffrey Archer is getting the TV adaptation treatment. BlackBox Multimedia will develop Nothing Ventured , the crime epic book, as a series. Nothing Ventured is the first book in the William Warwick series documenting the tumultuous life of Warwick, from from his time as a detective in the art squad, his career moves through drugs, murder, royal protection, Olympic Games security and finally counter terrorism. It was published by Pan Macmillan in 2019. The series will follow his early days as he investigates the the theft of a priceless Rembrandt painting from the Fitzmolean Museum and meets and falls in love with gallery research assistant Beth Rainsford, who is guarding a secret she’s terrified will come to light. As he chases the missing masterpiece, he comes up against suave art collector Miles Faulkner and his brilliant lawyer, Booth Watson QC, who are willing to bend the law to stay one step ahead of William. Deadline first told you the book was out on the market back in 2020. Former politician Archer’s books have been published in 114 countries and in 47 languages, with 300 million copies sold worldwide. His Kane & Abel trilogy is currently being adapted for television , while BlackBox is the European production house behind shows such as The Serial Killer’s Wife , The Castaways and The Ex-Wife . “I can’t wait to see William Warwick on the screen and am delighted to be partnered by such talented filmmakers,” said Archer.

    Movistar Plus+ Enters ‘This Town’, Head To ‘Wolf Hall’

    Spain’s Movistar Plus+ has struck a deal with Banijay Rights for a number of library scripted titles. The pay-TV and subscription streamer acquired Golden Globe winner Wolf Hall , Steven Knight’s This Town , upcoming family saga The Hardacres , historical drama Marie Antoinette , BAFTA winner The Sixth Commandment and coming-of-age series My Mad Fat Diary . The deal comprises more than 60 hours in total from the Banijay Entertainment stable. Sonia Salas, Content Manager-Series at Movistar Plus+, said: “Our acquisitions make up an offer of premium quality series, of varied genres, tackling current themes and always with a differentiating point to please our Spanish audience.”
