    Escaped inmate found after overnight search

    MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- A Midland County inmate is back in custody following an escape and overnight search.

    According to the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, around 9:30 p.m. on July 22, Adolfo Williams escaped from the minimal security housing unit of the detention center. At the time of his escape, Williams was being held on drug charges, theft charges, and violation of probation.

    Around 1:00 a.m. on July 23, after an “intensive search” by MCSO and other law enforcement agencies, Williams was located about one and a half miles away in the 1500 block of West Griffin Avenue. Williams was returned to the Midland County Detention Center and has been additionally charged with escape.

    This is the second known inmate to escape custody in the last seven months , according to previous news reports.
