It Would Be Best To Bet On This NFL's Player Breakout This Year

    By JT Howland,

One of the best surprises of each NFL season is when a player shows all his potential and has a breakout season. This could come early on, like when Patrick Mahomes won MVP in his first season as a starter, or later in a player’s career, like when Kurt Warner proved the doubters wrong and won a Super Bowl.

While there are so many guesses every year, usually give only a couple of players who will break out. Last year, incorrectly predicted that Desmond Ridder would lead the Falcons to the playoffs after a Jalen Hurts-type breakout season. Also thought Kenny Pickett would prove himself to be a franchise quarterback with the Steelers.

On the other hand, felt confident that the Packers would be in good hands under Jordan Love, and was right. Also predicted the New York Giants would miss the playoffs despite many analysts thinking that the G-Men could compete for the NFC East division title.

This Year's 2024 Breakout NFL Player Is...

So, this year's prediction is that Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis will break out during the 2024 NFL season. Here’s why: Levis had a great rookie debut when he threw for four touchdown passes in his first career start against Atlanta. Unfortunately, he only threw four more touchdown passes in eight games and added four interceptions.

But one game that made me believe in him was the 28-27 comeback win against Miami. Down 27-13 with 4:34 left in the game, Levis orchestrated two quick touchdown drives between a stop by the defense. He led the Titans offense downfield in 26 seconds, including two throws for 52 yards, which set up a Derrick Henry touchdown. The two-point conversion on the first touchdown drive allowed Folk to kick an extra point to give Tennessee the lead and, ultimately, the victory.

Bigger Things Headed This Year In Nashville

Now, with an improved offensive line, a new star wide receiver in Calvin Ridley, a pass-catching running back in Tony Pollard, and an underrated defense, the Titans can make some noise in the AFC South. Don’t see the team making the playoffs this year, but that doesn’t mean Levis can’t have a breakout season.

In Ryan Tannehill’s first full season in Nashville, he threw for 3,819 yards, 33 touchdowns, and seven interceptions as the Titans won the AFC South. Could see Will Levis having a similar season, and if he does, the Titans will have a lot to believe in with a franchise quarterback under center.

    Will Levis Stats Projection:

    4,102 yards, 31 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, 2 rushing touchdowns
