The Spawn reboot from horror producer Jason Blum and creator Todd McFarlane has an official title: King Spawn . McFarlane and Blum revealed the new title on social media, days ahead of San Diego Comic-Con.
The filmmakers revealed the title by posting a photo of King Spawn's script, which is written by Matt MMixon, Malcolm Spellman, and Scott Silver. The film's new title is an homage to 2021's King Spawn storyline, which expanded the Spawn universe established in 1992.
Given the timing of the announcement, it's highly possible that we'll get more news about the project during SDCC. This may include the first cast announcement, which is expected to include "multiple A-list people" as said by McFarlane in an interview with Comicbook .
While Jamie Foxx was attached to star in the reboot in 2018, it's possible that those plans may have changed. After all, the film has undergone several changes, most notably influenced by the release of Todd Phillip's Joker , which itself is getting a sequel this year. McFarlane himself was set to direct the film all those years back, though it's unclear if that's still the plan now.

As for what kind of movie we can expect, McFarlane said that it would be "between [The Boys and a traditional horror movie]."
Blumhouse will host two screenings of its upcoming film Speak No Evil during SDCC 2024. We just have to wait for more announcements about King Spawn during the panel.
