Maybe there was reason to worry after all.

After landing with the New York Jets via trade in late March, defensive end Haason Reddick was a no-show at both voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp. Now, it appears as if the Philadelphia Eagles' 2023 sacks leader is declining to attend training camp for the time being.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that "Reddick is holding out of training camp, as he awaits an adjustment to his contract" on the social media site now known as X.

Reddick reportedly asked for a richer deal before being traded by the Eagles. The New Jersey native, who was spotted wearing a Jets' shirt during his youth football camp in Camden County on July 13, is set to make $14.5 million in 2024, the final year of his current contract.

With Bryce Huff and John Franklin-Myers no longer on the roster, the Jets have a need for Reddick's pass rushing prowess. The projected starter made 27.0 sacks in 34 regular season games with Philadelphia.

After veterans arrive at training camp today in Florham Park, New York will hold its first practice on Wednesday, July 24. Reddick will be a late arrival, but how late is anyone's guess.
