Good morning everyone. Today looks like a repeat of yesterday across much of the problem spots we have been discussing, except we add a few features and take a few away. In the Northeast, today actually looks like a somewhat quieter day storm-wise, but we keep the warmth and muggy air locked in.

We still have the chance of some PM showers & storms for interior parts of the Northeast, but they won't be as numerous. However, numerous showers and storms return tomorrow and Thursday, and we could see an embedded severe weather component especially on Thursday. Hot conditions resume this weekend as the region dries out rain-wise.

Tropical moisture creeping up from the Gulf of Mexico will once again bring heavy tropical showers & thunderstorms to the Texas and Louisiana coast. We are already seeing heavy rain and storms as tropical moisture interacts with an old frontal boundary draped across areas just north of San Antonio, Austin, towards northwest Louisiana. We are expecting this to slowly meander towards the San Antonio area, and give central Texas a good, thundery soaking.

As with anything we've seen over the course of the past week, embedded severe weather is expected as tropical energy interacts with the coast. While we don't have any or expect any severe thunderstorm watches, you can bet on individual severe thunderstorm warnings popping up for isolated cells that contain damaging winds, frequent lightning, hail, and torrential rain.

Our "best chance" to see some severe weather, will be across parts of Wisconsin and Illinois later this afternoon and into the evening. A wave of low pressure moving north to south will likely generate a line of storms capable of damaging winds and hail. While the risk of tornadic activity is low, we cannot fully rule it out as we've seen in the past.

Here is your local NYC Metro forecast -

Look for some AM light rain then mostly cloudy skies today. It'll be a muggy one with the chance of a PM shower or storm. Highs in the mid 80's and damp.

Clouds remain tomorrow with an even better chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs again in the mid 80's and very muggy. Numerous showers and storms pay a visit Thrusday afternoon, and these could reach severe limits. Highs in the upper 80's.

Things clear out Friday with sunshine and upper 80's. Look for near 90 temps and sunshine this weekend.
