Biggest Villains in Bachelorette History

Season 21 of The Bachelorette premiered on ABC on Monday, July 8. Jenn Tran greeted 25 eligible Bachelors outside the mansion on Night 1, hoping to find “the one.” The first night showed a lot of promise. Several men stood out as front runners and a few emerged as potential villains.

Every season of The Bachelorette needs a villain. While fans may complain about contestants not being there for the “right reasons,” we have to admit the show would be boring without a few bad apples. Some villains come on the show with girlfriends. Others start petty drama with the men in the house. Either way, they never fail to keep us laughing or screaming at the TV.

In honor of Jenn’s season airing, let’s take a look at some of the worst villains in Bachelor history:

The Bachelorette Villian, Jed Wyatt – Season 15

Jed Wyatt won Hannah Brown’s heart on Season 15. Too bad he already had a girlfriend back home. While the show was airing, Singer Haley Stevens came clean to People after watching her boyfriend kiss another woman on television. She told the outlet Jed assured her before filming that the show was just an outlet to help his music career and he had no intention of returning home an engaged man.

“He wanted a platform. He kept telling me, ‘I don’t want my dad to have to help me pay rent anymore,’” she shared. “We spent the night together the night before he headed to L.A. He told me [the show] was just an obstacle and we’d be stronger on the other side because of it.”

Hannah broke off her engagement to Jed shortly after learning about Haley. She confronted him at the After the Final Rose special.

“It’s so messed up. It’s just sad,” she said. “What you did was not right and not good, but I did fall in love with you. And I know that that person’s in there, and I just hope that from this you will be honest and learn and grow into the man that I do believe that you can be for whoever in your future.”

The Bachelorette villain, Chad Johnson – Season 12

Chad Johnson was the bad boy in JoJo Fletcher’s season. He was obsessed with meat and pissing off the other contestants. His aggressive behavior turned off the Bachelorette and some viewers but he was certainly memorable.

The Bachelorette villain, JJ Lane – Season 11

JJ Lane coined the iconic phrase, “Villains gotta vil,” on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season. The Single Dad stirred up all kinds of trouble on the show but was essentially harmless compared to some of the franchise’s more notorious villains. He offered some much-needed comic relief. While viewers weren’t fond of him, it’s hard to deny he made the season better.

The Bachelorette villain, Luke Parker – Season 15

Jed wasn’t the only villain in Hannah’s season. Luke Parker was reviled by both fans and his fellow contestants. He was arrogant, judgemental, and dripping with machismo, which fans detested. Hannah was initially intrigued by the Georgia native but in the end, she realized he was no prince charming. She sent him home at the final 4 despite his objections.

The Bachelorette villain, Justin Rego – Season 6

Justin Rego may take home the prize for the biggest coward in the show’s history. During filming, Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky heard rumors that Justin had a girlfriend back home. She tried to confront him but he ran away from her. It was crazy. It was bad enough that he came on the show a taken man but his refusal to have a conversation with Ali made the situation even grosser.

The Bachelorette villain, Wes Hayden – Season 5

Add Wes Hayden to the list of douchebags who came on the show with a girlfriend. After he was eliminated in the final four, he bragged about having a girlfriend back home. Ew.

The Bachelorette villain, Bentley Williams – Season 7

Bentley Williams was displeased Ashley Hebert was The Bachelorette but that didn’t stop him from competing on the show. He stuck around and made a number of insulting remarks about her appearance before ultimately quitting the show in Week 3.

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
