A Washington County woman recently claimed her $100,000 prize thanks to a Maryland Lottery scratch-off game she purchased at a Smithsburg-area convenience store.

The Maryland Lottery allows winners to remain anonymous. This woman characterized herself as someone who plays lottery games every once in a while, according to an email from Lottery spokesperson Jim Kennedy.

She bought two different $10 scratch-off tickets. The $100,000 winner was a Gold Rush 7s Multiplier game.

The AC&T at 22507 Jefferson Blvd. will get a $1,000 bonus for selling the top-tier winning scratch-off ticket, according to Kennedy.

That store, the Smithsburg Exxon, is at the intersection of Mapleville Road (Md. 66) and Jefferson Boulevard (Md. 64) in Cavetown.

Powerball winning ticket sold near Hagerstown still unclaimed

As of Tuesday morning, a $50,000 winning Powerball ticket , sold at the Pilot Travel Center on Greencastle Pike west of Hagerstown, still had not been claimed, Kennedy wrote.

Because it is greater than $25,000, that prize must be claimed through Maryland Lottery headquarters.

Players have 182 days, about six months, from the drawing date to claim prizes, he wrote.

The winning ticket was sold July 15.
