Britt Baker had a lot to say about Mercedes Moné coming to AEW.

The former WWE Superstar debuted at AEW Big Business earlier this year. She won the TBS Championship in her debut match, and has been one of the most impressive women on the roster so far.

Moné butted heads with Britt Baker at Forbidden Door . The wrestling dentist made her long-awaited return to AEW at the event, confronting the TBS Champion. They are expected to wrestle at All In, with animosity already brewing between the two.

Britt Baker spoke on Close Up with Renee Paquette , and was asked about Mercedes Moné. The former AEW Women’s Champion said her debut was “exciting”, and said facing her was a “dream match” for her.

“It’s exciting because she is arguably one of the biggest names in women’s wrestling and has been for a long time. It’s cool that she chose us first and foremost. My pride, my heart starts beating with excitement. It’s so rewarding that I’m a part of something I helped build, and that a star like her, like Bryan [Danielson], like Mercedes [Moné], like Adam Copeland, chose to come here. They didn’t have to, but they did.”

“This was super rewarding because she’s always been one of my favorite wrestlers. I’ve been very open about that. I’ve said in many interviews that she was always a dream match of mine. “

Britt Baker Questions Why Mercedes Moné Is In AEW

Britt Baker continued, questioning whether Mercedes Moné joined AEW for the money, or to help the company grow. She said the two women have different visions for AEW, which is why they have butted heads so far since Britt Baker’s return.

“But then I started really paying attention to the things she was saying because you always have to have your finger on the pulse of what’s going on and what people are saying.”

“To just sort of brag about being the highest paid female in wrestling and talking about everything she’s done and accomplished somewhere else—what are you here for then? What are your intentions? To be the highest paid female and to talk about everything you’ve done and accomplished somewhere else? Or are you here to be a part of the revolution here? What’s going on in your heart? What do you really want to accomplish here?”

“I think I have a different vision for what contributing to AEW is than she does. That’s where I start asking myself the questions. Are we on the same page with what our goals are for AEW? If we are, great. If we’re not, I think we’re going to butt heads.”

‘The Best Thing That Happened To Me Was Mercedes Coming Here’

Britt Baker finished off by talking about putting Mercedes Mone in her place.

The former AEW Women’s Champion said the best thing in her career was Moné coming to AEW, because it made the fans want to see her return to “put her in her place.”

“This might be a little arrogant of me, but I’m going to say it anyway. I think one of the best things that happened to me in my career, in my position where I’m at, was Mercedes coming here. It was almost like I heard the bird calls for Britt Baker to come back because the shiny new toy isn’t so shiny when it’s right in front of your face. So let’s bring that old toy back that we know is tried and true and always going to be there.

“For me, again, the best thing that happened in my career was Mercedes Moné starting her AEW career because it made people want to see me back, put her in her place, and show her what AEW is really about.”
