98-Yr-Old’s Thoughtful Welcome To The Neighborhood Has Woman Getting Emotional

When Kelly McDuff first moved into her new home, she had no idea she was going to have such a thoughtful neighbor! As the woman was getting settled, she received a visit from an elderly gentleman in the area. He had two things for her: warm wishes and a sweet gift! Kelly was so overwhelmed by his kindness, she just had to post about it on social media.

In her video, the young woman explained that she had just moved into a house in a new neighborhood. A 98-year-old man took it upon himself to welcome her to the area with a beautiful gesture. He brought her a cake! If that’s not hospitality, we don’t know what is.

“We just moved into a house and my 98-year-old neighbor just dropped off a cake to welcome us to the neighborhood,” Kelly wrote in her post. “He’s lived here for 52 years and ‘hopes we love it as much as he has.'”

She added in her caption, “I love it here.”

Commenters loved hearing about this elderly neighbor’s thoughtful gesture! Many urged Kelly not to let it go unreciprocated.

“Please make sure you invite him over for dinner!” wrote one user. “That would make his whole life!”

Another added, “Don’t forget him! Even after the dust settles from moving in, we all get caught up in life. His last years on earth mean the most, make him feel special!”

A third said, “That’s your new grandpa. You make sure you check in on him once a week minimum.”

In another video, Kelly shared that she and her partner have actually been getting to know their other neighbors, too. They were literally on their way to an 87-year-old’s birthday party as they filmed! Of course, they didn’t arrive empty-handed. They brought a delicious-looking pineapple cake to the gathering!

All in all, it looks like Kelly is fitting right in with her new community. It’s wonderful that she has such thoughtful and welcoming neighbors!
