AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The most recent report from the Texas Water Development Board showed no change over the last week after a slight improvement from rain across Texas and the High Plains area.

In the most recent “Water Weekly” report from the TWDB, overall drought conditions across Texas stood at 25% which is the same compared to one week ago, 27% three months ago and 43% one year ago.

Most counties in the Texas Panhandle remain “abnormally dry” while there are areas along the eastern edge and western edge that remain under “moderate drought” conditions.

The TWDB noted on its U.S. seasonal drought outlook that recent rains might bring improvement to drought conditions however, those improvements may not last. TWDB also noted that the latest seasonal drought outlook anticipates no improvements or drought removal for Texas through the end of Oct.
