    Three injured in collision between car and harvester in Jefferson County

    LERAY, N.Y. (WWTI) – Three people suffered minor injuries when a harvester rear-ended a car in the town of Le Ray.

    State police responded around 6 p.m. Monday, to US Route 11 at the intersection of State Route 342 in the town of Le Ray for a personal injury accident.

    A preliminary investigation revealed that 39-year-old Jeffrey Murrock, of Watertown was driving a 2023 red Harvester tractor south on Route 11 behind a 2009 gray Hyundai Sonata driven by 38-year-old Jennifer M. Lavancha of Calcium, NY. The harvester failed to slow down and maintain its lane, rear-ending the car, which was stopped at a red light.

    Murrock was issued a ticket for Failure to Keep Right.

    The three passengers of the Hyundai 19-year-old Erynn Howland of Calcium, 13-year-old Samantha Lavancha of Calcium, and 17-year-old Tasha McConnell of Watertown, sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. They were transported to Samaritan Medical Center for evaluation.
