    47 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 47 for New England

    The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now 47 days away.

    Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

    Since 1960, 15 players have worn No. 47 in New England, and with 47 days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

    CB Mikey Victor: Present

    • Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama State
    • Expected to compete for a depth roster/practice squad spot

    FB Jakob Johnson: 2019-21

    • Appeared in 37 games for New England over three seasons, recording 13 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown
    • Also played for the Las Vegas Raiders

    TE Jacob Hollister: 2017-18

    • Appeared in 23 games for New England over two seasons recording eight receptions for 94 yards
    • Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots
    • Also played for the Seattle Seahawks, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings

    TE Michael Hoomanawanui: 2012-15

    • Appeared in 45 games for New England over four seasons, recording 20 receptions for 289 yards and a touchdown
    • Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots
    • Also played for the New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Rams

    RB Joey Iosefa: 2015

    • Appeared in two games for New England in his lone season with the team, rushing for 51 yards on 3.4 yards per attempt

    OL Jake Ingram: 2009-10

    • Appeared in 24 games for New England over two seasons
    • Also played for the New Orleans Saints

    LB Justin Kurpeikis: 2004

    • Appeared in five games for New England in his lone season with the team, recording three tackles
    • Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots
    • Also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers

    LB Rob Holmberg: 2001

    • Appeared in 18 games for New England over two seasons, recording 28 tackles (one for a loss) and one pass defensed
    • Also played for the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders, Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets

    LB Maugaula Tuitele: 2001

    • Appeared in five games for New England over three seasons, recording two tackles
    • Also played for the Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders

    RB Robert Edwards: 1998

    • Appeared in 16 games for New England in his four seasons with the team, recording 1,115 yards and nine touchdowns and 3.8 yards per attempt while adding another 331 yards and three scores on 35 receptions
    • Suffered an essentially career-ending knee injury in a flag football game during Pro Bowl week
    • Also played for the Miami Dolphins

    DB Roger Brown: 1992

    • Appeared in 16 games for New England in his lone season with the team, recording one fumble recovery
    • Also played for the New York Giants and won a Super Bowl

    WR Pat Coleman: 1990

    • Appeared in one game for New England in his lone season with the team
    • Also played for the Houston Oilers

    DB Paul Dombroski: 1981-84

    • Appeared in 36 games for New England over four seasons, recording one interception and one fumble recovery
    • Also played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    DB Darrell Wilson: 1981

    • Appeared in one game for New England in his lone season with the team

    DB Jim Massey: 1974-75

    • Appeared in 15 games for New England over two seasons, recording two fumble recoveries

    DB Billy Johnson: 1966-68

    • Appeared in 32 games for Boston over three seasons, returning 23 punts for 195 yards and 24 kickoffs for 453 yards while also recording two interceptions and three fumble recoveries
