Manchester United's Marcus Rashford has returned to training with the squad ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States.

Rashford was notably absent from the 26-man squad that faced Rangers at Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday due to a minor injury, joining Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Antony on the sidelines.

However, the United academy graduate did make an appearance in the Reds' pre-season opener against Rosenborg in Norway just five days prior, where he played for 45 minutes.

Manager Erik ten Hag has been known to make significant changes at half-time during United's opening two friendlies this summer, swapping out his entire outfield team against Rangers at the break. Goalkeeper Andre Onana was the only player to complete the full 90 minutes.

United claimed a 2-0 victory over the Gers, thanks to goals from Amad and Joe Hugill. Amad, who started on the right of United's front three, was particularly impressive, setting a high standard for United's other wingers as they compete for a starting position in the upcoming season.

Rashford, who struggled with form last season, scoring just eight goals, was recalled by Ten Hag to start on the left in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May. Despite his struggles, the United boss relied on his experience for such a crucial match.

United haven't completely dismissed the idea of Rashford leaving this summer. However, the club's preference is to keep him and assist him in regaining his 2022/23 season form, where he netted 30 goals for the first time in his career.

Liverpool.com says: It is sure to be a decent encounter when Liverpool faces United next week, even if it is a pre-season friendly. Both teams will be missing players but have taken strong squads out to the States. Rashford is still a threat and despite a difficult season last time out, will be eager to make his mark this summer.
