Celine Dion To Take Stage For 1st Time Since Revealing 'Rare' Health Battle

Celine Dion is officially slated to take the stage for the first time since announcing her ongoing battle with stiff person syndrome five years ago. According to TMZ , the "My Heart Will Go On" songstress will perform one song at the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympics in Paris on Friday (July 26).

An insider told the outlet that the world-renowned artist is currently " feeling fine " despite the debilitating effects of the neurological disorder she's had to endure in recent years. In her latest documentary, I Am: Celine Dion , the standout highlights just how painful stiff person syndrome can be. Despite relentless efforts and around the clock help from medical professionals, she continues to experience "full-blown seizures" and extreme lack of control for hours at a time.

Dion's comeback is rumored to cost the Olympics a pretty penny, as they are not only covering the icon's travel, (including "jets, her large family , boats and other expenses"), but the $2 million bill for her to perform a single song at the highly-anticipated event.

"They're paying a ton of money. Ridiculous amount."

Since being diagnosed with the disorder, Dion has made it her mission to return to the stage, and set an addition goal in April 2024, candidly revealing to Vogue France that she wants to see the Eiffel Tower one last time.

"I've chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!"

While news of the hitmaker's performance at the 2024 Olympics in Paris was confirmed, her song choice has yet to be revealed.
