    Authorities ID man found dead in 2020 in Stark. But we have to wait to find out who it is

    CANTON ‒ The Stark County Sheriff's Office has identified a man whose remains were found more than four years ago next to an oil well in Pike Township.

    Stark County Sheriff George Maier and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost will hold a press conference at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to announce the identity of the individual .

    The man's skeletal remains were found on March 31, 2020, near the 5200 block of Sandy Avenue SE . The man was estimated to have been deceased at least two years.

    A forensic artist with the attorney general’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation had created a clay facial reconstruction of the man at the request of the Stark County Coroner’s Office.

    The Attorney General's Office said in August 2021 that the man was believed to have been between 30 and 50 years old and between 5-foot-1 and 5-foot-9. He was found wearing a navy blue, white and yellow T-shirt, black shorts and athletic shoes.

    The deceased was also believed to have had no teeth. He had rib fractures that healed prior to his death.

    He reportedly suffered broken bones and head trauma at the time of his death.
