CABELL COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — Voters in November will be able to vote on an excess levy that includes full funding for the Cabell County Public Library and the Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District, according to a press release.

On top of the funding for parks and libraries, there are also provisions for Cabell County Schools, the press release said.

Earlier in July, the Cabell County Board of Education voted to restore funding to parks and libraries .

The vote allowed for the transfer and allocation of funds that would “reflect a restoration of funding to CCPL & GHPRD,” according to a press release. School district officials, including new Cabell County Schools Superintendent Tim Hardesty, said the transfer will be “equalization payments” for fiscal years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, and the allocation would be for fiscal years 2024-2025.

All four sections of the transfer passed with a unanimous vote. The decision was met with applause from the audience.
