Todd Kirby sworn in as Raleigh County Circuit Judge

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Friends, colleagues, and loved ones gathered at the historic Raleigh County Courthouse on Tuesday to witness the swearing in of Todd Kirby as Raleigh County Circuit Judge.

Judge Andrew Dimlich oversaw investiture proceedings as the former member of the House of Delegates took an oath to uphold the duties of the position to which he was recently both appointed and elected – Kirby was recently appointed by Governor Justice to serve the remainder of Judge Burnside’s term and elected to serve the subsequent term for the position.

“His integrity is unimpeachable. You never have to worry about that, and quite frankly, that’s a pretty good quality for a judge to have,” said Judge Dimlich of Kirby’s character. “I have absolutely no doubt that he is going to make an excellent Circuit Judge. I speak on behalf of all the judges in Raleigh County when in saying that we are excited to have him join our ranks and to work with him as our colleague.”

Kirby himself made note of the overwhelming support offered by friends, family, and colleagues throughout the journey which would ultimately see him donning the black robe as a member of the Raleigh County Judiciary .

“I truly am humbled by the support that I’ve received, not just today, but throughout my career and throughout my life from all the people that are in this room,” said Kirby during the ceremony. “I hope I make you proud.”

Prior to his successful pursuit of the role of Circuit Judge, Kirby founded and operated his own law practice in Raleigh County for over a decade. He also served as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in addition to his time spent serving as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates where he represented the constituents of District 44.

Judge Kirby is scheduled to preside over his very first cases as a Raleigh County Circuit Judge on Wednesday morning.
