    Valley Bike Share returns in August to 10 local communities

    NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP)– Valley Bike Share, a bicycle renting program, will be returning to the Pioneer Valley with a new vendor.

    According to the Northampton Office of Planning and Sustainability, the system will begin operating Monday, August 12, at ten local communities with 300 existing bikes and 50 Drop e-bikes. Those communities are Northampton, Amherst, the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus, Chicopee, Easthampton, Hadley, Holyoke, Springfield, South Hadley, and West Springfield.

    ValleyBike Share to restart electric bike stations with new vendor across the Pioneer Valley

    The new partner vendor, Drop Mobility, operates bike share systems in over 50 communities across the U.S. and Canada. The company was able to utilize the existing bikes and docks, moving them to the Drop platform and adding Drop e-bikes and docks.

    Information on pricing, equity memberships, and pre-sale deals will be online at ValleyBike.org beginning Thursday, August 1th. A public relaunch event will be held on August 12 at noon in Pulaski Park on Main Street in Northampton.
