Harrison County Animal Control seeking information in dog neglect case: ‘There’s no covering for your friend’

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Harrison County Animal Control is asking for information from the public after it chose to euthanize a dog that it says suffered a “long, painful life.”

In a Facebook post , animal control said that it was called to pick up a loose dog on Still Street in the Summit Park area around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The dog, which it named Faith, was hairless, tired, tattered and worn, the post said, “so we brought peace to this girl and humanely euthanized her.”

Animal control is asking the public for any information about where Faith came from. Anyone who recognizes her or has other relevant information should call 304-592-1876.

“There’s no covering for your friend, family or loved one, this is punishable abuse and we would hope knowing this, you would not like to be an accessory,” the post said.

The agency also shared the following photos of Faith and the condition she was in.

“Daily we lose FAITH in humanity, daily we see broken souls, and daily we’re the last ones that love them,” the post said.

Animals that are picked up and confiscated by the Harrison County Animal Control and not claimed by their owners are made available for adoption through the Humane Society of Harrison County .
