HUNTSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — ALEA said a single-vehicle crash killed a teenager and injured another Monday night.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said troopers responded to a single-vehicle all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash on July 22 around 11:50 p.m. The driver and passenger were both 15 years old.

DEI offices closed at University of Alabama, UAB, UAH following passage of law

Troopers said the driver of the ATV struck a tree on Union Chapel Road near Union Grove Road. Both the driver and passenger were thrown from the vehicle. Neither was reportedly wearing a helmet.

ALEA said the investigation is ongoing.
