    Cherokee Fire Accepting Applications for Recruit School

    Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services is now accepting applications for its Fire Recruit School.

    CCFES recently announced that it is accepting applications for new team members, and has listed the current salary and benefits for these positions.

    ♦ Firefighter entry level: $49,566 (salary during recruit training)

    ♦ Firefighter AEMT: $53,644 (salary after recruit training)

    ♦ Firefighter paramedic: $58,610 (salary for paramedics during and after recruit training)

    Additional benefits include:

    ♦ Differential pay: $100 additional per ambulance shift worked and 1.5x hourly rate for holiday shifts worked.

    ♦ Degree Incentives: associate degree — $1,000 added to annual salary; bachelor’s degree — $2,000 added to annual salary; master’s degree — $3,000 added to annual salary.

    ♦ Bilingual incentive: $1,000 added to annual salary for bilingual skills, including ASL
