Tourists Take Off Running When Geyser Explodes At Yellowstone National Park

That's what you pay for, am I right? Let's be real... nobody really lives near Yellowstone National Park. If you're there, you probably drove a long way, maybe even took a plane, and you're hoping to see some cool stuff. Maybe a grizzly bear attacking a bison, maybe a pack of wolves on the hunt, or perhaps... a geyser exploding right in front of your face. Park visitors this morning got treated to some Grade A hydrothermal activity in the form of a massive explosion near Sapphire Pool in Biscuit Basin, located just north of Old Faithful. https://twitter.com/NomisRensiew/status/1815810415844368518 Luckily nobody was injured, but the explosion did close that section of the park until officials can confirm the area is safe.
"Biscuit Basin, including the parking lot and boardwalks, are temporarily closed for safety reasons. The Grand Loop Road remains open. No other monitoring data show changes in the Yellowstone region. Today’s explosion does not reflect a change in the volcanic system, which remains at normal background levels of activity. This is an evolving incident, and additional details will be shared as more facts are known." https://twitter.com/YellowstoneNPS/status/1815835206739202445 Here's another angle from someone who was a little further back: https://twitter.com/J_6_Patriot/status/1815827762290336224
