All hail the queen: Lucy Lawless will reprise her Spartacus role as Lucretia in the upcoming Starz sequel series Spartacus: House of Ashur , our sister site Deadline reports. (TVLine has reached out to Starz for comment.)

Lawless will guest-star in the premiere episode, with Lucretia “elevating” all that’s around her. Lawless debuted as Lucretia on Spartacus: Blood and Sand and then reprised the role in spinoffs Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Spartacus: Vengeance .

Now Spartacus fans may recall that Lucretia took her own life in Spartacus: Vengeance , but the new sequel series Spartacus: House of Ashur is an alternate history of sorts that “poses the question: What if Ashur (Nick Tarabay is set to reprise the role ) hadn’t died on Mount Vesuvius at the end of Spartacus: Vengeance ? And what if he had been gifted the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus in return for aiding the Romans in killing Spartacus and putting an end to the slave rebellion?”

Along with Lawless and Tarabay, Spartacus: House of Ashur ‘s cast includes Graham McTavish (Outlander) as former gladiator Korris, Tenika Davis ( Jupiter’s Legacy ) as female gladiator Achillia and Jamaica Vaughan ( Home and Away ) as elevated house slave Hilara. The 10-episode series was ordered at Starz last November; Spartacus series creator Steven S. DeKnight returns as showrunner and executive producer.

Lawless is still best known for playing the title character in the syndicated action hit Xena: Warrior Princess , after originating the role on Hercules . Her other TV credits include Battlestar Galactica , Parks and Recreation , Salem and Ash vs. Evil Dead .
