The Demographic Estimating Conference met on July 9, 2024, to review, revise and share a new population forecast. The new estimates reflect recent demographic and economic‐related data and trends. Compared to the last conference, Florida’s population estimate for April 1, 2024 was adjusted upward by 25,491. While numbers did get slight revisions it was noted in both cases that deaths still exceeded births, resulting in negative natural increase. This means that the population boom is indeed coming from folks relocating.

This rate of population growth is estimated to average 305,269 net new residents per year (836 per day), as of 2022 Orlando had roughly 316,000 people living there to give some perspective.
