NY Democrats back Harris for president

(WIVT/WBGH) – Vice President Kamala Harris’s quest to become the Democrat’s presidential nominee seems inevitable as more party members line up behind her.

The delegation from New York to the Democratic National Convention agreed last night to back Harris.

The virtual meeting of delegates was led by Governor Hochul, who was one of the first prominent elected Democrats to endorse Harris after President Biden backed out of the race.

Lena Bishop, an at-large delegate from Broome County, had told News 34 yesterday that she was reserving judgment about the Vice President’s campaign, but not anymore.

Bishop says the entire New York delegation is in agreement supporting Harris.

The convention starts August 19 in Chicago.
