Wow. This mom truly deserves Mom of the Year Award!
Renovating a home and raising a toddler are both full time jobs and this TikTok creator somehow manages to do both at the same time. Sometimes, she even combines the two responsibilities into one to make life extra fun for her daughter and boy, does she have some good ideas.
While some moms might understandably not want their kids to take over their well-decorated dining rooms, this mom does not care in the slightest. In fact, she went as far as to make the dining table into a makeshift playhouse for her little one and honestly this is just so genius.
If you're a frequent scroller on the DIY side of TikTok, then chances are that you are familiar with creator Kylie ( @kyliekatich ). This girl is the queen of home DIY projects and if you're ever in need of some home inspiration, this girl is definitely one to check out.
From furniture flips to total dining room renovations, Kylie dives headfirst into every single project and it seems like everything she touches turns to gold. Including one of her most recent ideas, which involved turning her family's dining room table into a makeshift playroom for her daughter.
Kylie had spotted this trend of playhouse dining tablecloths and decided to make her own for her kid. Since Kylie and her family recently got a dining room table that you can actually crawl underneath, this mom knew it was time to bring this DIY to life.
She only needed a few supplies to get started! This is such a cute idea.
How This Mom Created a Playhouse Dining Room Tablecloth
The basic idea of this DIY is to use a tablecloth to create makeshift walls for an under-the-table playhouse. And the best part? It's so easy to clean up! Simply take off the tablecloth and you're good to go.
Kylie grabbed some scissors, fabric paint, a pencil, and tape. She first cut out a square at the front for the door and if you try this, make sure to not cut the square completely out. Make sure to keep the top side connected; this way you can roll up the door and tie it!
Next, she sketched out some windows and painted them on with her fabric paint. She even made custom drapes for these windows in case her daughter ever wants to close them.
Last but not least, Kylie piled a bunch of fluffy blankets underneath for the coziest playhouse ever. Her daughter was obsessed! The most worthwhile $20 Kylie ever spent.
