Tourists can 'turn back time' at this traditional Irish cottage with its own private pub

Tourists can get the true, authentic experience of living in the Irish countryside this summer. An Airbnb in Co Louth offers enough entertainment that you won’t have to venture outside the front gate.

Nellie’s Farmhouse is located in Riverstown Co Louth , and welcomes guests to come stay with them, “and turn back the hands of time.” The farmhouse, which was formerly known as Glenmore cottage, was built in the 18th century and has been hosting visitors since the 1980s. Though the house is only an hour from both Dublin and Belfast , and 10 minutes from the nearest town, their hope is that their guests will not need to leave at all.

This is mainly because Nellie’s Farmhouse has its own private pub, An Teach Bó, built on to the cottage. The old-style Irish pub can cater to a small group who are encouraged to bring their own drinks and take turns serving each other behind the bar. There are also kegs and taps available to rent for the evening.

The cottage has an enclosed courtyard area for guests to enjoy sitting outdoors, and even a hot tub which their website claims is “perfect for relaxing after a long day of hiking or exploring the local area of Cooley, Carlingford and Riverstown.”
