Darby Allin believes that AEW ‘s shows are better than ever.

Darby Allin has been with AEW since the company launched in 2019. As one of the proverbial Four Pillars, he has been a featured member of the roster. He is a former TNT Champion and a former AEW World Tag Team Champion. Having been with AEW from the start, he has seen it change a lot over the years.

Speaking with Raj Prashad of Uproxx , Darby Allin commented on the differences between current AEW and the company’s early years.

“The shows are just so much better,” Darby Allin said. “I feel like you kind of have to throw crap at the wall and see what sticks for the first few years. To get on Dynamite, you really have to be good.

“It’s no longer, ‘Oh, you know, I’m friends with this guy, so I’m gonna give him a hand out and just put him on the show,’ it’s not about that anymore. You gotta put up, you gotta perform and you gotta actually bust your ass or you’re not gonna get on the show and a lot of the people that were not good were weeded out the first couple of years.”

Allin also highlighted the match between MJF and Will Ospreay on the July 17th episode of AEW Dynamite as an example.

“It lasted like an hour and it was insane,” Darby Allin said. “This isn’t a friggin’ spring break for your buddies to hang out. We’re putting our souls in that ring,” Allin continues. “If you don’t have that chip on your shoulder, I do not want you in the locker room for sure.”

Allin will compete in the Blood & Guts match on the July 24th episode of AEW Dynamite.
