Kelly Bensimon on Scott Litner Rejecting Prenup, ‘Not Going to Take a Risk’

The truth is finally coming out about why Kelly Bensimon called off her wedding to Scott Litner at the last minute. It wasn’t cold feet. There wasn’t a cheating scandal. Instead, she said he had an unwillingness to sign a prenup that ultimately drove them off course.

Kelly opened up to Daily Mail about her runaway bride moment . Although she was just days away from exchanging vows with Scott, she doesn’t regret calling things off. The prenup issue was just too important.

“I’m obviously extremely disappointed, but it’s not something that just happened. This is something that was building up over time and the prenup was a big deal for me,” Kelly explained.

You’d think she and Scott would have had those details ironed before they went through the trouble of settling on a venue, sending out invitations, and picking out a dress. Literally, she had a full-blown photoshoot at the bridal store. Meanwhile, they were secretly fighting over a prenup. That’s messy, but Kelly said she wasn’t willing to walk down the aisle without the paperwork in place .

She explained, “It’s like when you’re a single parent, whether you have thousands in your account or you have a 100 million in your account, women are going to need to protect themselves, and I’m just not going to take a risk.”

Kelly doesn’t feel ashamed about what happened. According to her, she’s heard from a lot of other women who have been in similar situations and is finding strength from hearing their stories.

Moving forward, Kelly said she’s going to use this situation with Scott as a learning lesson. He’s allegedly trying to rekindle their relationship , but she wants to stay single for now. In the next relationship, however, she’s going to make herself extremely clear. She’ll never consider marriage without a prenup.

“I’m not going to let my girls do it and I’m not going to do it,” Kelly insisted.
