CLEARFIELD COUNTY (WTAJ) – Clearfield County is looking for 911 dispatchers and the starting wage has increased to $18.50 an hour.

The topic was brought up by 911 coordinator Jeremy Ruffner during the public comment portion of the July 23 commissioners meeting.

“We have three positions we are looking to fill,” Ruffner said, “you can get on our Facebook page , find a link, fill out an application, and then you will be sent a link for interviews that are happening next week.”

Ruffner added that 911 telecommunicators are the vital link between citizens in an emergency and Police, Fire and EMS responders. Dispatchers work a fixed day or night rotation, 12-hour days and get every other weekend off.

You can apply for the positions on the Clearfield County 911 page . Benefits for these jobs include healthcare, pension and paid days off.
