YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — People were out and about last week for the York State Fair, enjoying the many attractions, animals, food and even concerts that the fair has to offer.

When the fair was moved from September to July, that meant having the fair would be in the summer heat, but for the fair this year, that didn’t stop the crowds of people from attending.

Montgomery Stambaugh is the spokesperson for the York State Fair, and she was able to speak on the numbers so far at this year’s fair.

“Within our first weekend, the weather was on our side, so we were happy about that, as well as we had two of our bigger concerts, so with that the numbers were higher than last year,” she said.

That is so far, the official numbers won’t be tallied until the fair ends.

Other than the birds, the York State Fair introduced some new attractions for attendees like Paul Bunyan lumberjack shows.

The fair is also a food fanatics dream.

“We also have over 90 food vendors, so there’s definitely some new food for those food fanatics to try,” Stambaugh said.
