A new concept fusing crocheting and coffee is coming to Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood — Stitch Cafe aims to open this summer
(with an exact date TBA) .

Owner and founder Sarah Chae plans to convert the space into a mid-century modern vibe with a fair dose of grandma-esque decor (it’s all about balance). However, her main focus is to provide an inclusive gathering area for local crafters. Chae’s personal experience as an LGBTQIA+ fiber artist lends her a first-hand perspective on how to approach that goal.

As for the coffee part, Everett-based Upright Tree Coffee Roasters will be taking care of that with its locally roasted micro-batch beans.

Currently under construction, Stitch Cafe will take up residence in the storefront formerly occupied by Poco Bar & Lounge at 1408 E. Pine St.
