Although filmmaker Matt Reeves has decided to keep his Batman franchise separate from the DC Universe (DCU) co-headed by James Gunn and Peter Safran, fans continue to wonder what will happen if David Corenswet’s Superman and Robert Pattinson’s Batman are to team up. A recent example of this is an incredible DC fan art that has gone viral.

Stunning DC concept art brings Robert Pattinson’s Batman & David Corenswet’s Superman together

The remarkable DC concept art depicts Corenswet’s Superman and Pattinson’s Batman together, standing side by side and looking ahead. The iconic superheroes are in their respective costumes from the franchises they belong to. Pattinson’s Batman first appeared in the 2022 film The Batman. And Corenswet’s Superman is slated to make his debut in the upcoming film of the same name, which will come out in the US on July 11, 2025, and will be the first entry in the DCU.

An X user with the handle @Spdrmnkyxxiii shared the concept art on the platform with the following caption, “World’s Finest. I totally wouldn’t mind this. Corenswet and Pattinson look sick together!”

Posted on July 4, it has garnered around 79 thousand views and two thousand likes as of Monday, July 22.

The DCU came into existence after its predecessor, the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), in which Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill) did share the screen, fell apart. After Warner Bros. and DC made the announcements, the fans initially hoped that Pattinson’s Batman would appear in the DCU. However, answering a fan on X, Gunn revealed in late 2023 that it was Reeves’ choice not to let “the Batman” exist in the DCU and that they were respecting that decision. (via CBR )

Accordingly, at least for now, these iterations of the two legendary superheroes are unlikely to meet. But the DCU still requires a Batman of its own, as the character is set to make his debut in the franchise with the live-action The Brave and the Bold movie. Potential candidates to play the role include Glen Powell, Jensen Ackles, Alan Ritchson, and Jake Gyllenhaal. All of these actors have expressed interest in playing the character, with Ackles even voicing Batman in multiple entries of the Tomorrowverse franchise.
