Snoop Dogg will carry the torch ahead of the opening ceremony for the Olympic games in Paris.

According to a report ESPN published on Tuesday, July 23, the Death Row Records owner, French actress Laetitia Casta and French rapper MC Solaar, and Ukrainian retired pole-vaulter Sergey Bubka will carry the revered torch to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium to officially kick off the summer Olympics. They will travel through the suburb of Saint-Denis in north Paris before it reaches the Eiffel Tower. The team will bring the torch to the front of the Basilica Cathedral for a concert featuring French singer Slimane.

“U Ready? Paris 2024 Olympics ya digggg," Snoop wrote on Instagram.

Before being selected as a torch carrier, Snoop Dogg was blessed with another major role at the Olympics. The Long Beach, Calif. native is in Paris to serve as a correspondent for NBC Sports. Expect to hear Snoop's hilarious commentary and expert analysis during some of the biggest events of the Olympic games.

"This is what I do, you know what I’m saying?" Snoop told TIME about his new gig. "I love being in front of the people. I love sports. I know what I'm talking about. The network is appealing enough to understand that we deserve each other. So we’re gonna make magic."

Snoop is one of several celebrities who will participate in the opening ceremony for the Olympics on Friday night. LeBron James will serve as the flag bearer for Team USA. Meanwhile, Celine Dion and Lady Gaga are also rumored to be performing during the ceremony. .
